Hanson + Confederate Architects

Architecture, like food, cars and clothes, is increasingly judged by the way it looks (or rather what it looks like), and not by what it does, how it operates, what it represents or how it was originally conceived.

Our design strategy evolves from analysing the client’s brief together with the physical and historical context of the site. We proceed by investigating the appropriate use of technology and materials. We are also conversant with the current issues debated in the built environment; the new urban planning, mixed use ideas, increased urban densities and energy conservation that reduces the production of carbon from the design, construction and occupational process.

We co-ordinate all of these elements within the design's programme, budget and physical organisation of the building.

To sum up, we recognise that good architecture is the product of a successful partnership between an enlightened client and their architect.
